Mouseplanet's Mark Goldhaber reports Toy Story Mania will open in "summer 2008".

Disney officially announces Toy Story Mania. It will be an interactive new ride coming to Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World and Disney's California Adventure at Disneyland. Guests will immerse themselves in the world of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 when they don 3D Glasses and are shrunk to the size of a toy and sent thru a midway themed route. At each game booth, they will aim their "toy cannon" at animated targets while they encounted Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Hamm, Bo Peep and the Little Green Men.

Visible effects of the construction can now be seen over the construction walls. The on-site crane is now progressivley removing the exterior walls of "Studio 3", revealing the support structure. On the construction walls are the typical clapper-board style refubishment notice.

Concept art from Disney's Annual Report shows a preview of what the attraction could look like and also hints the name of the attraction could be "Toy Story Mania"

December 22, 2006
A media event held January 24-26, 2007 is expected to hold a "what's next" type announcement on the final day of the event. Likely to be announced here is a replacement for Who Want's to Be A Millionaire--Play It!. Construction walls now fully enclose the former attraction site although no announcment has been made to a replacment.

The Hassle-Free Walt Disney World Vacation book mentions the attraction by the name "Pixar Mania" and notes "Likely to open in 2008".

So far work has been conducted on a utility duct and the former “sound stage” has been gutted. This current phase of work is scheduled to be complete by November 10, 2006. Currently, there are no expectations of when any subsequent phases of work may begin.

The Narnia attraction closed for 5 weeks (Closing October 1) due to construction being done on the old Millionaire building. For any of those who are curious, the entire building is gutted and work is being done in the area between the Narnia and Millionaire buildings. Apparently they have to dig 20 feet down into the ground to reach some electrical wires
