Today's column comes to use from Roger who asks, "I would like to know the origin of Toluca Legs Turkey, actually why the use of Toluca? Thanks!".
Toluca Legs Turkey Co. is a counter service restaurant on Sunset Boulevard and its name is a classic Disney Imagineer play on words. The restaurant sells those ubiquitous giant turkey legs that Walt Disney World is famous for.

The name combines what it sells (turkey legs) with a famous part of Los Angeles, Toluca Lake. Toluca Lake is an area about 12 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

There is a sign on the front of the restaurant that says, "Best Legs in Tinsel Town.", which is another great word play. Usually that phrase refers to beautiful women but in this case, it's referring to the turkey legs that are sold here.
Students of Disney's Hollywood Studios will note that Toluca Legs used to be in a different location. It started out further down Sunset Boulevard where Fairfax Fare currently is. The two restaurants essentially switched locations in April of 2009, with Fairfax Fries (a McDonalds french fries location) swapping locations with Toluca Legs.
