Metal archway

Yestserday I wrote about how I wished Disney would approve a long rumored project, the Monsters Inc coaster ride.  This Monsters Inc coaster ride has never been officially announced, but it's become one of those rumors on the Internet that seems to leak out.

When you have rumors, often fans like to look for confirmation that the rumor is true and this week, there's something undeniably similar in Disney's Hollywood Studios that seems to hint that Imagineers knew a Monsters Inc based ride would be coming.

Much of Pixar Place references the Toy Story films, and that makes perfect sense considering Toy Story Midway Mania is the attraction Disney built for the area.  However, if you keep walking down Pixar Place and then turn around, there's something there that is definitely not part of the Toy Story films and it's too big to be ignored.

This rusty or brass looking archway isn't from the Toy Story films, nor is it a piece of architecture from the Pixar Studios campus that Pixar Place is based on. So why is it there?

Many Disney World fans think it's part of a yet-to-be-developed part of Pixar Place that would be constructed once this rumored Monsters Inc ride was built.  The reason why so many think there's a connection is based on the architecture we see from the 2001 film.  Throughout the movie, there are scenes that depict archway and metalwork similar to the arch on Pixar Place.

You have to admit that it looks pretty close and considering it's not at Pixar Studios or in a Toy Story film, it seems even more convincing.  So what do you think?  This week's entry can't definitively say why this arch is there but do you believe this arch is part of a future Monsters Inc attraction? Or is it just wishful thinking?
