Eric Jacobson

You may have been checking out this past week's Studios Update article and saw photos of the new D23 exhibit inside One Man's Dream. Among the new D23 items is a certificate from the new fan club that certifies that Eric Jacobson is an official member of D23, but who exactly is Eric Jacobson and why is his certificate there?

Eric Jacobson is the Senior Vice-President of Creative Development Walt Disney Imagineering. In plain english, Eric is one of Disney’s most senior Imagineering executives and he has strong ties to the origins of Disney's Hollywood Studios. Jacobson worked on projects ranging from Buzz Lightyear, the Great Movie Ride and Tower of Terror, and recently was involved with the additions and enhancements to Pirates of the Caribbean. Jacobson has had a career that spans over 30 years with Disney and so clearly the D23 certificate is paying a little hommage to one of the men who is directly responsible for the Studios we see today.
