A weekly peek at Walt Disney World

Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Glenn Sonoda

Welcome once again to my What in the World? column.  It is with great pleasure that I announce that in the coming weeks I will be relocating from here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean to Orlando, Florida.  While this is a rather significant life change for me, I am excited about moving to such a great city.  Oh yea, and I guess I am looking forward to living so close to Walt Disney World as well…

With my big move, there will be some big changes to my What in the World? column.  I am still in the planning stages, but, when I finally get settled into my new pad, there will be a lot of new and exciting content for Studioscentral readers.  Be on the look out for park specific updates (not unlike Matt's weekly Studios Update), restaurant, resort, and attraction reviews, previews, opinions, and other Walt Disney World-heavy coverage.  By "plussing" my column, I hope that it will evolve into something that readers will want to come back to and be informative for guests and fans of the World.

I will be taking a short break from writing after next week's column as I make the long journey across the country.  I will report back on June 10, 2008 with some Star Wars Weekend coverage.

Before I sign off, I want to remind everyone about Studioscentral's Gift Card Giveaway!  Here's the info:

Who is Eligible?

Anyone who happens upon our site and reads this article is eligible to participate.  Yes, this means you!

What is the Big Prize?

The winner of this contest will receive a $50 Disney gift card.  The Disney Gift Card can be used to purchase your favorite Disney merchandise and entertainment.  If you happen to be at Star Wars Weekends, you can use your $50 gift card to purchase one of those very expensive big figs that Colin is always talking about.  Not going to Star Wars Weekend?  No problem!  Either way, I’ll be mailing out the card via US Postal Service.

What are the Contest Specifics?

This time around, please send me an email discussing what you are looking forward to the most during your next trip or visit to Walt Disney World.  Is it an attraction?  Is it a hard-ticketed event?  Is it the experience?  Whatever it may be, let us know.  We ask only that you keep entries to 500 words or less.

What is the Deadline?

Entries must be received by Monday, May 19th at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

How Do I Win?

I will read all of the entries, and post them in the May 20th What in the World? column.  The winner of gift card will be randomly selected from the entries I receive and then announced at the end of the column.

Until next time!
