It's time to answer all of your questions about the Disney-MGM Studios (well all the questions I can get to this week) and since we're past Super Soap Weekend, I can hopefully promise no more Super Soap Weekend questions for the next week or so. In the meantime, sit back and read this week's question and if you have your own questions that you've been thinking about, please feel free to email them to me (use the form below).

Out of all my many trips to the Disney-MGM Studios (probably once every year since I was born), I've yet to see a certain attraction: Sounds Dangerous starring Drew Carrey, mostly due to the fact that I've heard nothing but extremely negative feedback about this attraction. Some say it's the worst of the entire WDW resort, but I wonder, why so much hate for Sounds Dangerous? Is it because it's outdated, cheesy, uninteresting? I was surprised you gave it high ratings on your site, because everywhere else all people seem to do is bash this attraction on how horrible it is. - Chris
Sounds Dangerous has become one of those attractions that guests are vocal about it not being good. I tend to think of it when I wrote my review based on how it was to someone who has never seen it before. I do think there are some funny bits (The paper or plastic joke, the randomness of something like a jar of killer bees, etc). It's campy and I do think the first time I saw it, I felt it was entertaining. That being said, it's re-rideability is next to zero and so I agree with many guests who don't wish to see it again. It's one of those attractions that I can see once every 3 years or so. I do think you can do far worse in terms of bad attractions at Walt Disney World.

There are various rumors circulating on "the internets" (mostly on Screamscape.com) that an interactive American Idol show will take place in the abandoned ABC Theatre or perhaps replacing Sounds Dangerous. They would either get the rights from FOX and make it an American Idol interactive show or make their own interactive singing competition. What do you think about this rumor? Is it true, do you think it will happen? I'd welcome pretty much anything to fill in that empty ABC theatre! - Walt
It's fantastic to get these emails from beyond the grave and know that Walt himself is reading my site and.....oh, other people are named Walt? Well, thanks for writing anyway. The rumors are intriguing. First and foremost, I am in support of any attraction coming to the ABC Theater. It's such a waste of prime real estate that it's a shame nothing permanent has been in there since the beginning of this decade. As for the Idol idea, I like it. It's something different and I like the prospect of using the old Who Wants to Be A Millionaire - Play It! technology. Do I think it will be the next E-Ticket attraction? Absolutely not. Like many, I wish an attraction like Superstar TV would return but beggers can't be choosers and the Idol idea I think is a good fit for the Studios.

are the osborne lights still up and going on january the 12th? - Kate

Nope, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights will be running through January 6th and after the 6th, the lights will not be turned on and begin being taken down.
