Every week I’ll be answering any question about the Disney-MGM Studios from planning questions to “what happened to...” questions.  So if you’ve got something you’ve been wondering about or simply need clarification, please feel free to email them to me (use the form below).

HI. I am rather overweight, ( 250 pounds) Will I fit on your rides? Particularly the Rock n Roller coaster? I have a 48 inch waist. Thank you. - J. Schuett
Given your size, you should still be able to fit. I would recommend a great resource for those who have special needs authored by Deb Wills and is all about attractions at Walt Disney World and describes various special needs from size concerns to mobility to Autism. In your case, Deb has an article regarding the Rock 'n Roller Coaster and it appears as though a man who was a 100+ pounds more than you fit in there so I imagine you will be fine.

I have been looking everywhere on the internet to find when the christmas parade will be. Do you have any idea when the date will be for 07-08? I need to make my reservation soon. - Marnelle Melvin
If you're referring to the Christmas parade at the Disney-MGM Studios known as the Hollywood Holly-Day Parade, then it (along with the Osborne Lights) will be running from Nov. 12, 2007-Jan. 6, 2008. If you want more information on Christmas festivities at the Studios, click here.

Our last day in the parks for our upcoming May trip is June 1, the first day for Star Wars Weekend. What strategy should we use to get the most our of our visit if that's all we're going there for that day?

BTW, very much enjoy WDW today each week! - Chuck

That particular day will be tough because it is an Extra Magic Hour morning, meaning guests from the Disney resorts can get into the Studios an hour early. The good news is there is no special SWW events going on during that extra hour in the morning. The bad news is, the park is going to be much more crowded than ususual. Therefore, if you are staying on Disney property, be sure to arrive before 8am so you can be on hand for opening and around 9am, position yourself near the Sorcerer's Hat a little before 9am so that at 9am, you can be in prime position to get started with Star Wars Weekend events.

In general, here are some guidelines to follow for Star Wars Weekend.

Merchandise: If you want any limited edition merchandise, get it first thing as soon as it's available. It will sell out.

Events: Sign up for any events like the trivia challenges as early in the morning as possible. You can also have your kids be in the afternoon parade, but you need to sign up right when they start taking registrations (9am). To sign up for anything, you will need to go to the Star Wars Weekend information desk, which in years past has been near the entrance to Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.

Autographs: Grab FASTPASS's for these at your earliest convenience. There are 3 sessions per day so keep that in mind.

I'll have a detailed article on planning your day at Star Wars Weekend coming up soon.
