Every week I’ll be answering any question about the Disney-MGM Studios from planning questions to “what happened to...” questions.  So if you’ve got something you’ve been wondering about or simply need clarification, please feel free to email them to me (use the form below).

We are from the UK and visiting Orlando in May. Can you tell me please if FANTASMIC will be shown on the nights the park closes at 8.30pm? I would like to know so that we can plan our visit around this. At the moment we are planning to visit the Studios on Saturday May 5th and Saturday 12th.

Is it only shown on a night where the park is open until 10pm? If so, we will have to juggle our itinerary (already planned I might add)! - Barbara, United Kingdom

Yes, Fantasmic! will be shown on both nights you will be at the Studios at 9:00pm. If you're confused how the show is at 9:30 but the park closes at 8:30, here's how it works. At 8:340pm, the attractions will close and you will have two options: see Fantasmic! or exit the park. Generally speaking, there is a showing of Fantasmic! nearly every night, it's just a question of one or two shows per night but the nights you will be down there, it will be one show per night.

Is the Jedi Training Academy only during Star Wars Weekend? - John L.
You are guaranteed to see the Jedi Training Academy diuring Star Wars Weekends. In 2006, however, they experimented with having Jedi Training Academy open a few weeks before the first Star Wars Weekend to guage guest interest and see if was a viable permanent attraction. After Star Wars Weekends ended in 2006, the Jedi Training Academy was packed up.

I've read on screamscape where they have redone the queue to accomodate fastpass and single line riders, and haven't really seen nor heard any feedback on if it's working yet or any photos... would love to know how that is shaping up. - Kelli
In January of 2007, Rock 'n Roller Coaster closed for a few weeks for a rehab to begin the process of adding a single rider queue line. It re-opened, however, the single rider queue line is not complete yet. There will be another closure this year (currently rumored to be in March, although I've heard as late as September) where they will finish off the single rider line integration. If you want to see what it looks like, we've got some brand new photos taken just this week.
