Screamscape has video of a temporary change and the WDWmagic forums are saying so as well. I was wondering if anyone here had rode recently.

I saw the new effect on Tuesday when it was first turned on. The hitchhiking ghosts animationics are currently covered by black screens with video projections of the ghosts on them. The implementation of the effect definitely makes me think it is temporary. Most likely the actual animationics are being upgraded. Rather than closing the ride or having a blank hallway, they can up with this alternative.

Glad it's a temporary (hopefully) change and that WDI doen't muck up a good thing by "upgrading" too much (like they did with Journey into your Imagination version 2 & 3). Mansion is a great classic dark ride and I never tire of riding it!

I agree, this is a classic. Didn't I hear/read somewhere that they are planning to design it so that after the ride you can (surprise) purchase a photo of you in the buggy with your hitchiking ghost?

there was a rumor that you would be able to purchase a photo of you and your hithchiking ghost. I havent heard that in some time so I can only assume it aint happening
