What happened? Did the backlot tour close? I read a post at the DisBoards that all of residential street is closed off and Catastrophie Canyon is no longer accessible? This was the best part of the Studios!!!

The demolition of Residential Street is proceeding, with 2 buildings now completely removed from the site.

Residential Street was the best part of the backlot tour. The houses were priceless landmarks. Damn. :notamused:

But after the stunt show opens, the Backlot Tour will get to go through and behind the scenes of the show. :D

I would laugh my backside off if they actually said that.

You will be able to look at several skylines at once when they are done.

It's not going anywhere, just getting a much needed facelift.

They aren't really going away. Anything that does, will most likely wind up elsewhere in the parks.

They actually aren't out for rehab so much as the school groups that come into the park tear up the vehicles by climbing on them and ripping parts off for momentos  It gets expensive constantly replacing parts on them. They will also take out the cars during the busy times because it clogs up the guest traffic. You can see most of them during the Backlot Tour :)

Very true. I think they might become a permanent section of the Backlot Tour. They have been back there for quite a while.

I liked the police cars, even though they're like 10 years old but nice to see :)

Old...yes. But those cars remind you of New York back when the big motion pictures like Home Alone were being produced.
