I should have told you where I was at at the AS Sports. I actually knew the room number beforehand.

I was only at MGM on Sat. About 2ish hrs before Fantasmic. You were not in the RnR shop and they hadn't yet opened up the 'gate' to Hollywood Hills Amp. Just rode Tower once, RnR twice and GMR.

Was looking for Jillian. The park was closing 'early' by my standards. and I knew there wouldn't be much wait for RnR.

Hopefully that will teach you to save more money along the way for that next trip. And remember what your friend told you....

I was at Epcot til about 3, then I got to the Studios around 3:15, and I was at Tower for a bit, then I was at Fantasmic.

That's ok, I'm sure we'll meet up at one of your trips down here

Ahhhh!!!! never even thought to check at Tower. Well since you were there, why was the Tower wait so long for standby? 70 for Tower while RnR was only 5 at the same time?

Because the ride is still down to one side, and it was down a couple of times.

Where do they shoot the fireworks off for Sorcery in the Sky? Is it over the Sorcerer hat or do they do it where they have fantasmic. Also, is it really better than Illuminations on NYE, cause Illuminations is my most favorite off all the firework shows.

Welcome Gina.

Some of the Socery fireworks are shot off from the Great Movie Ride Building. Somewhere around here Matt has a pic of one of the platforms.

Welcome to MGMStudios.Org Gina!

As Jason mentioned, the fireworks do come off of the Great Movie Ride. The best viewing area is on Hollywood Blvd, or from the parking lot(believe it not) as there's much more space, easy to get out(since you are allready out) and you can still get a good view.

The best picture I have of it is over at http://www.mgmstudios.org/sorcery.html which is the description of the attraction and there's a pretty good picture there.

Thanks for the welcome. Wow! That picture is fabulous! I had originally planned on going to Epcot on NYE, but now I'm not sure, especially since I've never seen Sorcery in the Sky. How long do the fireworks last? I'll be waiting for them to anounce the bands that will be at MGM that night.

Do you think I will have any trouble buying my AP and getting into the park on NYE. My plane doesn't get in till 11am that morning, but I am staying on property? I know there is a point when they stop selling park passes, but what about a resort guest buying an AP?

Gina,

Fireworks last about 1/2 hour and it's worth seeing as they're only shown twice a year so if you have the opportunity, take it.

As for your AP's and such, I don't have much experience with it, but I'd guess you wont have any problem getting into the park, so long as you have a valid ticket :(

Gina,

You should not have a problem getting in. Getting your AP's may take a little longer than normal since the crowds that day will be a bit larger than normal.
