I recall hearing a rumor a while back about a dark ride going into the Studios based on the bedroom door scene at the end of the Monster Inc. movie.

I'm hearing some noise/rumor about a possible Monsters Inc area at the Studios and wondered if any of you have heard anything. The dark ride would be installed in this Monsters Inc. area. One would think Pixar Place would house this area or attraction, but maybe it could replace an area or expand the Studios existing foot print.

Just throwing this out there for discussion.

It sounds similar to Mike & Sulley to the Rescue, which is at DCA. I haven't heard anything about any Monster's Inc. ride at the Studios, however.

A mike & sulley clone would make sense for Pixar Place because a. its popular at DCA and generally well received and b. Disney now loves clones

But I haven't heard this one

I remember the rumor, which you can see again here, and it hasn't resurfaced in a long time. Likely not happening soon if it at all.

I asked a friend who has a lot of WDW contacts about this. He had heard the rumor, but thinks that they may be looking to see how Toy Story Mania fares before considering the Monsters Inc. ride.

Lots of Monsters Inc ideas out there. Lots of work done for 3 different Monsters attractions at the Studios. Check out the back side of the bridge @ Pixar Studios! Look familiar?

^Yeah, I've been wondering about the Backlot Tour side of Pixar Place. It does seem very... Monsters Inc-ish...

All I can really say right now is that the doorway to a tunnel and playground might keep us suspended in anticipation of what's going on with the so called "Hot Set"

Lol that first part sounds like those videos you have been posting lol. I've heard many variations on this rumor so most likely something Monster's Inc will appear

Think about the comment though. Should be easy to figure it out. And when I mean playground, I don't mean the Honey, I Shrunk The Kids playground. . .

Anything that was going around saying it was a carbon copy of the DCA ride is more than likely wrong. And this door might give tower a run for it's money for who's taller now.

I definitely believe we'll be getting "a bugs land" play area (replacing Honey I Shrunk The Kids Play Area) and a Monsters Inc. ride, but it's just a matter of when.

Probably not for another few years.

Just spec. on my part, but those two rumors just won't die and they really would make a ton of sense for the Studios. It would give them another ride that's badly needed (and a dark one, at that) and it would refresh an area that lacks real theming anymore and it would tie in with the Pixar Place section.

Flik won't be leaving the tree of life for a long time yet. So don't expect too much on the honey playground deal.

Work has been going on in the soundstage for a lot longer than people think though. Seems TSMM was just a cover up and a "pay no attention to the work behind the building" situation.

Someone over at HISK told me that they can not change it without completely tearing it down. Idk how much truth that holds though

Im hopeful a Monsters Inc ride is coming, yet I fear the economic conditions may have impacted (read: cancelled) the Monsters Inc project but I'm glad to hear some fresh rumors.

To someone,
See: Enchanted Tiki Room, Stitch's Great Escape, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, Philharmagic, Pirates, Mansion, Tower of Terror, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire building, Narnia, Magic of Disney Animation, AFI Showcase, Emporium, Sunset Blvd shops. To name a few.

All completely changed or had some changes, without tearing everything completely down.

Does Disney really need another dark ride in this area though?
