Hello all,

I was curious about something and was wondering if anyone had any inside info:

On my visit to TOT a few weeks ago, I noticed that the middle-aisle seat (in row 5) that used to be the only seat with a seat belt was no longer being filled in the elevator I was in. When I noticed - I looked to the floor and realized the bronxe square marking that spot on the floor had been pulled out and the spot was no longer marked on the sign above the door.

Anyone know why?

Welcome to Studios Central mulderxcoltrane!

That's odd what happened to you. I'm thinking that perhaps that particular seat had a broken seat belt or something. I rode this morning and had someone in the middle seat in the backrow.

Huh - it was on the rightmost elevator on the left side of the basement.
The # five square on the floor was even ripped out - which is why I thought it was odd.

It's odd that the floor indicator was ripped out but I know they still fill that seat. Perhaps the tile where the spot would be was broken? Not sure, but the spot is still being filled.

I wonder if it's just on that one elevator - b/c the spot was removed on the seat-filling diagram above the door as well.

Cool! If you take the left queue in the basement - it's the right elevator on that side (I'm fairly certain it's the right one - but I'm 100% sure it's on the left queue.

Maybe it was reserved for the ghost of one of the people that disappeared in the elevator back in the 30s

Well arent there three 5 seats and four 6s? Maybe there was four 5s and three 6s back in the day before it was all seatbelts?

Yes - any ideas why the spot is gone?

The spot isn't really gone. I boarded that elevator and the back row was full. Maybe some maintenance or an error or something. But that back middle seat is still being populated by guests.

Huh - isn't it odd that they stripped the # off the floor and the chart? It looks in the pic like it was ripped out of the floor.

Disney wouldn't decrease capacity. I think we need to unleash some local detectives on this.

I think I've figured it out.

The middle spot in the back row used to only have a seatbelt (it was the only one like it). That was the top #5 spot in the loading grid.

However - when they removed the lap bars and installed seatbelts for everyone - this must have necessitated the removal of one seat in that row- because there is definitely one less spot being loaded.

That's exactly the reason, as far as I know.

That top center seat location did disappear around the time they removed the lapbars & gave each passenegr a seatbelt so it probably was related to that conversion. All 4 elevators have been configured with that top
center spot gone for some time.

I don't think this is a temporary thing as this was missing when I visited in mid-December.
