I just got mine and I already saved 5 bucks buying drinks for people at the English Pub! :-) Definitely worth it!

Since getting the DDE in Novmeber, and being at WDW for about two weeks so far, I have saved what a paid for it in pints at the R&C alone. This is a great way to go if you don't eat at only counter service places

They DO include most of the "lounges" at the hotels, so our plan is to visit all the lounges and get a drink at each one... (of course this won't be all in one trip).

But it is amazing. :-) Well, I just say "alcohol" since I don't like Beer.

I am already in the process of doing this and found some good ones. But they are few and far between. However, WDW does have its fair share of great pubs. Try the Crew's Cup at YC

I would like to stop by Rose & Crown sometime soon. I haven't been in a couple of years and found the food to be pretty good (food meaning something other than fish & chips and beer).

As you could probably tell, I have a small R&C fixation. As a lover of all great tavern, the R&C is a fav of mine. Funny thing, I've never eaten in the dining room. I have had all intentions, and more than one ADR, but never seem to make it past the bar...

I was at the Rose and Crown Pub which was absolutely amazing. The bartender (who wasn't too bad himself) made me a Welsh Dragon, minus the mint and it was DELICIOUS. I really almost got two, but I got a Grey Goose Citron Lemonade slush instead.

All the hotel lounges recently got redone "menus" so some of your drinks will be MIA the next time you go, however, just ask and they should be able to accomodate you. They have the same outer covering for all the menus at the lounges now for the Year of a Million Dreams and the same menus at each lounge. Along with special "year of a million dream" drinks (try the glow-tini. mmm.)

Try the Outer Rim if you haven't been there yet, dbm.
(and if you ever want to meet up for a drink, let me know. I'm always up for one and to meet new people!)

(yeah, I don't seem like an alchie at all in that little comment)

I used mine at Biergarten tonight at Germany and then at the Pub. The boys got massive beers at Germany for 6 bucks with it. Then I got another Welsh Dragon at the pub. Yummy! It's almost all piad for now!

Hey, I used mine on actual FOOD last night at the Germany Dinner show!

I just went to the Pub after. I'm addicted to Welsh Dragons... they are a tad... addicting and delicious!

Ok, that's it....you've been raving about this Welsh Dragon so much, I'm putting it on my definate things to do next trip.

BTW, how was the food at Germany? We used to go there all the time but the last few times it hadn't been as good as it used to be. The kids have been asking to go back.

I was there once when I was little, the stage show scared me a lot when I was little, so that's the only thing I remember.

The food was pretty good. Definitely not the best food I've eaten, but it was definitely good. I loved all the different rolls and I enjoyed the dessert buffet. lol. Also the salmon was good, and the mac and cheese (since we're all lil kids). Their different salads (pasta, potato) were okay. I'd rate it as a semi-good meal.

Oh, and when you get a Welsh Dragon, ask for it without the mint. We've determined that it probably wouldn't taste good with the mint. I think it amuses me so much since whenever we go, I'm the only one who getso ne, and half my drinks get drank by my three friends. Then they are all sitting there going "I should have gotten that instead."

I got my card, and I applied for it beginning of January. I used it January 10th for the first time. I got my plastic card today, and it doesn't expire until Feb. 29th of 2008! Yay for disney for giving me an extra 2 full months pratically to use it!

For the record allow me to say that YES, I am a HAPPY card carrying member! This card has been everything I hoped it would be. The only problem we ran into with it was in the occassional odd place, like the pool resort bar. If a manager is not on duty, the CM/bartender cannot process the DDE discount. A manager has to be on duty to prevent people from being given a discount unknowingly and having an unscrupilous CM skimming the difference into their own pocket.

If it happens that your DDE Discount cannot be proccessed, you are stuck either paying the full price (which I did) or having to track down a manager (did that once too). If you press the issue, you can get your bill corrected, but I don't like making a fuss about it.

Overall though, this baby gets two Sith Thumbs up! :thumleft:  :jedi:

Colin, how long did it take for you to get the card after ordering it? Ours expired and I need to order a new one before our May trip. Thanks!
