RIP Thurl Ravenscroft

I was fortunate enough to meet Alice Davis and Xavier Atencio (X. Atencio) a few years ago. Both were full of wonderful stories of Walt and the development of the parks. They were also class acts.

Very sad news indeed. I can imagine him up in Heaven hanging out with Walt and Paul Frees. He did have amazing talent. He'll live on forever through his work. RIP Mr. Ravenscroft. You'll be missed.
Rob, it's nice to hear that you met Alice Davis and X. Atencio. I wouldn't mind meeting them at all. Heck, I wouldn't mind meeting anyone who worked with Walt one on one just to hear some of the stories they have. Can you tell us any stories they told you?

At the parks, he's the voice of Fritz in the Enhanted Tiki Room "Whoo, whoo I see Smith has no hair" and he also appears on one of the five singing busts in the Haunted Mansion. He was also the voice of Buff in the Country Bear Jamboree.
In film, he was the voice of the Russian Cat in "The Aristocats", of "Kirby" (the vacuum) in "The Brave Little Toaster", of Paul Bunyan in "The Legend of Paul Bunyan", of the Captain in "101 Dalmatians", and of the Ace of Clubs in "Alice in Wonderland".
I'm probably missing some, but that should give you a pretty good idea.

The artists that worked on the HM movie made a bust to appear in the movie and modeled it after Thurl.
He was the lead singer of "Grim Grinning Ghosts".

TinkerBell1981, let me get back to you on that one. It was several years ago, so my memories are a bit rusty, but I believe that I have video of at least some of it. I'll try to review the video sometime after I get back from Florida so that I can do the story justice.
