The voice of Tony the Tiger and many Disney characters and attractions is dead at the age of 91 from Prostate Cancer. I was hoping to have the opportunity to meet him someday, but I figured it would never happen.

I was fortunate enough to meet Alice Davis and Xavier Atencio (X. Atencio) a few years ago. Both were full of wonderful stories of Walt and the development of the parks. They were also class acts.

I was just about to post this.

Very sad news indeed. I can imagine him up in Heaven hanging out with Walt and Paul Frees. He did have amazing talent. He'll live on forever through his work. RIP Mr. Ravenscroft. You'll be missed.

Rob, it's nice to hear that you met Alice Davis and X. Atencio. I wouldn't mind meeting them at all. Heck, I wouldn't mind meeting anyone who worked with Walt one on one just to hear some of the stories they have. Can you tell us any stories they told you?

It's sad news. But everyone has a time, so Walt was probably there to welcome him. :-)

At the parks, he's the voice of Fritz in the Enhanted Tiki Room "Whoo, whoo I see Smith has no hair" and he also appears on one of the five singing busts in the Haunted Mansion. He was also the voice of Buff in the Country Bear Jamboree.

In film, he was the voice of the Russian Cat in "The Aristocats", of "Kirby" (the vacuum) in "The Brave Little Toaster", of Paul Bunyan in "The Legend of Paul Bunyan", of the Captain in "101 Dalmatians", and of the Ace of Clubs in "Alice in Wonderland".

I'm probably missing some, but that should give you a pretty good idea.

Thurl is pictured on the top left....

The artists that worked on the HM movie made a bust to appear in the movie and modeled it after Thurl.

He was the lead singer of "Grim Grinning Ghosts".

Was he the one I thought was Walt Disney?

The one pictured is from the movie. It's just a model. Here's all I found online from the movie. This could actually be from the trailer.

In the Mansion, Thurl's bust is the broken one.

TinkerBell1981, let me get back to you on that one. It was several years ago, so my memories are a bit rusty, but I believe that I have video of at least some of it. I'll try to review the video sometime after I get back from Florida so that I can do the story justice.
