The Backstage Magic Tour!!!!




We'll be down in WDW from October 8th-15th, staying at Saratoga Springs as DVC members. ANNNNNNDDDD...

On Friday, October 10th, I will be at the Guest Relations spot at Epcot @ 8:45 AM for my 7 hour backstage tour of Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios, the Magic Kingdom, and beyond.

Also includes lunch at the Whispering Canyon Café at the Wilderness Lodge.

I'm not even going to bother bringing my camera bag... I'll leave that with Wifey, Grapes (my daughter's screen name, LOL), and my in-laws.

WHOO HOOO One-and-a-half more weeks!!!!

Anyone here do this tour before? I've read some reviews, and don't want explicit details, but, how did you like it?

That's Awesome! You've got some pretty nice In-Laws. I've not done it, but plan on doing it in the near future.

I think you're talking about the "Backstage Magic" tour. I'm pretty sure "Keys to the Kingdom" only goes through the Magic Kingdom.

Either way, have a great time! I've always wanted to take one of those tours.

Yes, I do. Wifey and I were going to join DVC (My parents have been members since 1999), then HER parents joined. It's just silly for us to have our own points, when both sets of parents bought in with the express reason to take thier grandkids down to WDW.

So, I've been able to alternate years... and go every year for a week or more! Yay me! LOL


(I want to buy, like, 30 points, so I can get the discounts on Annual Passes myself)

Awesome news I've only done the Magic Kingdom backstage tour, and while that one was great, I have to imagine the one you'll be on will be top notch. Please let us know what you thought when you return. Until then, have lots of fun

I normally do a detailed pictures trip report (but seem to have not done my last trip in December... hmm...), but of course that's not going to happen for this tour.

I think I shall follow Scopa's advice and carry a tiny journal to jot in while on the bus between sites.

I did it a few years ago--it was a lot of fun, although we didn't go backstage at as many attractions as I had expected.

Without going into details, I would say that I enjoyed going to all the areas that are not usually accessible to guests, and was less excited about going to the areas that anyone applying for a job would see.

Part of it too, I think depends on the other people in the tour--we had some aggressively geeky people on ours that were sort of loudly disgruntled at pretty much everything, so that sort of makes it a little less magical. Still, it was fascinating to see where they made stuff and the utilidors and things, and I would do it again in an instant, if I found a bag of money by the side of the road to pay for it.

Ug... I hate disgruntled people. Hopefully the tourmates I get will be properly gruntled.

I did the 1/2 day behinds the scenes tour at MK many years ago and it was awesome! Have also done the Steam engines tour which was also very cool. Enjoy!!!!!!
