Okay, 101 trips to the World and I've NEVER stayed on-property...until trip 103 (trip 102 WILL be this weekend. I AM going with or without my folks, darn it, I AM going) We're planning on staying at one of the Value resorts and I'm wondering if anyone has stayed at one of these and I'd like to know what they're like.

Sorry, can't help you....I'm an off siter for life :lol:

Anyway, since Pop Century isn't open yet, isn't your only choice All Star resort if you want to be in the value chain?

There's actually 3 value resorts other than the yet-unopened Pop Century -All-Star Music, All-Star Sports and All-Star Movies. The only reason we're staying on-site this time is because I was looking through the FL Residents page of the Disney site and it said that there was a special $49 Value Resort rate for FL Passholders only. Otherwise, we'd be staying off-site like always.

IMHO, there is little to no difference between the All Star resorts, or at least, not so much as to draw lines of differences between them. I say throw darts at a map of the resort and whatever lies closest, wins

I know that, silly, it's just the way you said it sounded like you meant there was only one. And quit sounding so much like my pessamistic father. That's exactly what he told my mother when she said she wanted to stay on-property this time. :P

They are great, the rooms are nice and each 1 of the 3 resorts have 2 or 3 pools (Main pool & quite pool), the food courts have good food at a good price (Disney prices). The layouts differ some from Resort to Resort but they are all basicly the same.

And being on site you can take advantage of Disney Transportation which we always do. Because we always have someone who ends up needed to go back to the room for one reason or another and it is so much easier to do when staying on-site.

I just cant pay for the All Stars when for the money I could get a suite off property. The moderates have some nicer theming, but the theming and size problems that the All Stars have dont suit my taste

The best value resort at Disney World is All Star Music. It is a nice quiet resort, with a great food court and a small gift shop. If you choose All Star Music, ask for a room on the Jazz Section, it is located near the Lobby and Food Court.

Ive stayed @ Sports and hated it! :(
We loved Movis and are staying agian this trip! :)
I do hear good things about Music but after the stay @ Sports DH wont try it! ;)

Welcome Sylvia! My fav is the Movies. What didn't you like about Sports?
