Rumor out there is that Block Party Bash will end performances on January 1, 2011 and be replaced by a new Pixar parade.

New parade will star Remy and Emile from “Ratatouille” and Carl and Russell from Disney/Pixar’s “Up”

New parade debuts January 16, 2011

Tentative title is 'Pixar Pals Cavalcade', and it will use the music from 'Pixar Play Parade' at Disney California Adventure.

I hope they don't use the same music as the Play Parade. We were in DL 2 years ago, and I swear that song is still in my head! "play, play! Play parade!" :) That'll be a cute update though.

ETA: next time I should read the actual post - get ready to have that song stuck in your head!!!

it's official that BBP is gone and it will involve Pixar characters. Should be interesting to see what happens

I really like BPB, love the energy of this parade and all the acrobatics. I understand why alot of people disagree with me, I'll be sad to see it go .

I agree, Yulilin. I think BPB is one of the better parades WDW has has in quite a few years. No matter what kind of a mood I'm in before the parade starts and all bubbly and happy when it's over. I hope Dug is in the new one, at least.... I need to see it a few more times to increase my collection of BPB nerf balls! The parades at AK and especially MK need replacement. AK parade has been there forever even though it's a cute parade and the one at MK is just plain boring abnd esentially a redo of the previous parade. I really miss Tapestry of Dreams/Nations that was at EPCOT!!!! My all time favorite!

I agree Debbie. BPB was the last parade they should have replaced. Oh well...I guess we should embrace the change and see what the new parade brings to the Studios.

While I'm all for Remy coming back (he's my fave)... I LOVE BPB. I'll be very sad to see it go.

If they keep it similar to Pixar's Play Parade, it's the same type of parade as BPB. I don't see them changing much.

Interesting update, the new parade will feature same 3 Block Party Bash floats with at least 3 more new floats. All new music and more pixar characters.

Sounds like it'll be more parade and less party. Hmm

Good point, one would think if they were doubling the size of BPB, it'd be a traditional parade but it will be interesting to see if that's how it turns out

I think its a good change. Dont get my wrong I like Block Party Bash but its time once again that it needs to be replaced. But i wish they would lay off the Pixar stuff... Parades that is. Wish we could have like a Stars N Cars type parade again. This is only going to be a mix match Pixar Play Parade.

From what I hear, this new parade will be a traditional parade. Evidently many guests complained about BPB and not being able to see the whole thing.

I guess this gets put up there with Stitch's Supersonic Celebration as something I never saw! Well I did see 5 minutes of it this July, but since my daughter began to melt we headed for the indoors.

The show debuted May 6, 2009 and closed after a final performance on June 27, 2009, only a six week run.

I always found the BPB to be the most difficult to navigate around. Trying to get somewhere while that parade was going was nigh impossible
