Hi,

I'm new to this forum although my family and I are confirmed WDW addicts. Does anyone know what's going on at MGM New Year's Eve (other than Fantasmic and the Stars and Motor Cars parade)? The last time we were there on New Year's Eve they had a great concert with Davy Jones, Bobby Sherman and Peter Noone. I'm hoping they'll have something similar this year.

Thanks!

Welcome to MGMStudios.Org Donna!

There's always Sorcery in the Sky. As for the other events, they are usually announce closer to the date.

Welcome to the boards!

New Year's Eve at the Studios always rocks. It's a huge party and we close early because we are so full. We don't have any confirmed or rumored acts at this time, but I'll be sure to let everyone know when I hear something. Fantasmic, Stars and Motorcars, and Sorcerery in the Sky will be going on though :)

We'll be there from 12/25 to 1/2. Believe it or not, we almost just came back! We were at WDW for 2 weeks in July and actually planned the December trip while we were there! My mother thinks we're nuts. Some people just don't get it! :)

Donna,

Thought you might find this interesting...

A park is considered full when it's parking lot is full. For the Disney-MGM Studios, an overflow lot is also used. (Sometimes it's Wide World of Sports or Blizzard Beach)

Admission Stages:

Normal: 1 day tickets are for sale at the gate. Parking is available at the park.
Stage 2: No tickets are for sale, you must have a multi-day ticket to enter. Limited parking is available and allowed only for multi day ticket holders and Disney Resort Guests.
Stage 3: No parking is left including any overflow lots. Only guests bussed in from the resorts are allowed to get to the park.
Stage 4:
No entry except to Cast Members and Mr. Eisner.

Notice that Stage 4 hasn't happened in the last two years.

Mr. Eisner was eating at the Hollywood Brown Derby in the Disney-MGM Studios on the 1999-2000 New Year's Eve. You can call 1-407-WDW-DINE to make your priority seating.

Occasionally (on busy days like Christmas or NYE) they may require a $10 deposit to hold your "reservation." It's refundable up until 24 hours before your time, I believe.

For some reason all the days I go and plan on taking pictures, the clouds come out. I have been looking for extra batteries for this camera but can't find any at a reasonable price.
