Heading down in June for a few days at WDW. First day is going to be the new Disney Hollywood Studios. My daughter has two things in mind for that day... She wants to see Handy Manny at Playhouse Disney and she wants to eat at Pizza Planet, her all time favorite! However, I thought I heard Pizza Planet was closed or being "moved" to a new location on Pixar Place.

Anyone know if the old familiar Pizza Planet is there. She also likes the faux-snow scene right down the street and gets a big kick out of it, especially when its 90 degrees outside!!

Pizza Planet isn't going anywhere anytime soon, or at least nothing remotely resembling a rumor has surfaced to indicate such a change. Your daughter will definitely be able to have her Pizza planet before/after/again meeting Handy Manny!

there was concept art for a pizza planet that actually resembled the one in the movie, pixar place was considered, then a total move over to mk's tomorrowland noodle station, and now the project has been put on hold. the noodlestation has reopened thru august.

I would love to see some of those original concepts for Pizza Planet because I think the potential for theme is missed with what is actually in Pizza Planet :?

Sorry, but I think the Rainforest Cafe is deplorable. Overpriced, bad food with terrible service and in addition, it's a pet peeve of mine to eat at restaurants in WDW that you can find at home. Sorry for the rant, just my opinion

Has Pizza Planet changed their pizzas in the last couple of years? Cuz I remember going there in, like, 2001 and thought it was horrible. And then we just went there again this past April and I thought it was pretty decent.

Have to disagree with you on Rainforest Cafe, though. Matt's last comment was spot on: Overpriced, bad food with terrible service.

I belive it has changed, though last time i had it was summer last year, but it did taste better than my last visit.

I have had some very good servers at Rainforest, so i guess it all depends on your experiences there. As for Overpriced, yeah it is, but it is good food when someone else is paying lol

I don't hate or love Rainforest. There are other places I would rather eat but won't refuse to eat at a Rainforest. The ones in WDW are about equal with ones in other states. Overpriced for the quality of mediocre food but fairly predicable and consistent in quality, cleanliness, etc. You're paying in part for the "ambiance" so to speak. Those animated elephants and chimps don't work for for nuthin'!!!!! :wink:

We like Pizza Planet, but only for the atmosphere. The pizza is not much better than Little Ceasar's or Domino's. Seems how we're in the studios, we "act" like the pizza is good!

I've never been up north, so Domino's is basically what I think of as good pizza. Not outstanding, but good, and worth what you pay. There is a place in Orlando, in my home town of Winter Park, called Mellow Mushroom, and this pizza is the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is awesome, and the Magical Mystery Tour Pizza is killer!!! I highly suggest this place if anyone wants to have pizza outside of the parks. The only thing is it's on Aloma Ave, which is about 20 miles from Disney.

Thanks for the tip on pizza. The Mellow Mushroom is pretty far from me (I'm about 15 miles south of Kissimmee) but if I'm ever up that way, I'll try it. BBQ is much better down south as are few other foods but in general, FL could use a few lessons in pizza and good crusty, crunchy bread! They are about the only foods I miss from NJ. I've found, if you look around, you can find most any type of food within the central Florida area.

There is a Mellow Mushroom in the town next to mine. It is the best pizza in the area as far as I'm concerned; however, it is not the least expensive either.

You get what you pay for I guess.
