We are arriving around dinner time on the 27th of December. We have never seen the lights and were wondering if there was a "good" or "better" time to go and see them. Anyone have ideas? We are aware of the crowds being crazy. Is there a que for this? Is it a long wait? About how long does it take to walk through? All help is greatly appreciated!

Show up in the last hour/half hour of the night. The lights are on up to an hour after the park closes, and most ppl are gone by than

Thanks for that info Matt. Do you think that the same ideas for seeing them will apply the week following Christmas and leading to New Years. I am prepared for rediculous crowds, but yet I have not seen how crazy it can be never being there that week. Easter week was busy, but not as bad as I expected. I can only imagine this will be far worse.

I certainly think you should follow the guidelines outlined there even during Christmas week. It will still be crowded, but it's all relative. As with almost anything during that week, you will need a lot of patience and a good plan.

Thanks Matt, this is great information. This December will be my first visit to see the light. After reading your report, I feel that I will be able to enjoy more then just the lights. I'm sure, since Hollywood Studios is our favorite, that we will go more then once. Thanks again for the detailed information. I can't wait.

I personally love seeing them after park closing if possible. I've done both and there is a very noticable difference between seeing them at 6:00PM and around the time the park closes.

The guides are great Matt...Thanks for putting them together and posting them.

I have a couple Osborne Lights questions and figured I would tack them on here rather than starting a new thread. :D

Any rumors about when the lights will start showing this year? We will be at WDW through the night of November 10th and were hoping to catch the start. I see from the old schedules that they started on Nov 10 in 2009.

Does anyone know about when Disney will start to announce its event schedules for the holiday season?

Thanks!

Generally the weekend of Thanksgiving, but last year it was sooner, so i wouldn't be surprised to see that happen again

You can find a listing of past Osborne Lights dates here: http://www.studioscentral.com/osborne-fami...ghts-past-dates

As you can see, the dates can vary and as darthstitch said, some years its Thanksgiving and other years it's early November. I haven't heard anything, rumor or otherwise, about this years timeframe.
