ConGaloosh 2009 WIll have an event at The Adventurers Club!!!!
I'm Secretary/Treasurer of The ConGaloosh Society, Inc. and thought I would pass this along to anyone interested! The ConGaloosh Society's President and PR Chairperson released this announcement today on the Yahoo Adventurers Club Group:
Kungaloosh Fellow Adventurers!

The details for this safari are still being mapped out. BUT, since there is so much rumor and speculation in the air, thought I'd put out a few pieces of info on the event (Sept 25-27, 2009):

1) We ARE scheduled to have a VIP event at the Adventurers Club on Friday September 25th (details and registration info coming soon). Space is currently limited to 75 adventurers. We really wanted to do something Saturday to give more people a chance to attend, but another group has a hold on the venue for that night.

2) We have a hotel secured near Downtown Disney for the event. A special room rate of $99 has been set up with them and can be obtained by mentioning "ConGaloosh 2009" when booking. The hotel is the Royal Plaza on Hotel Plaza Blvd and the reservation phone number is 407-870-2828 (the rate is subject to room availability and is good for 3 days prior and/or 3 days after the event dates of 9/25-26/2009)

3) Other festivities will include an "Adventurers Life is Best" banquet, panel discussions, and a "Dress for the Hunt" ConGaloosh Competition.

We are working on a few other surprises as well, but that's an adventure for another post. Suffice to say it WILL be a exciting experience for all who can make the safari to Orlando!

I've started a mailing list (send a message requesting info to congalooshorlando at yahoo dot com). Just to note, we (the ConGaloosh Society) are a completely volunteer group of fans endeavoring to put this event together. If you'd like to pitch in, please drop me a line.

Kungaloosh!
Michael Gavin

Wish i could go, but knowing Cons you will have to buy a package including a hotel stay, which is just a waste of money for me.

Will the event in the club include the entertainers? Or is it just using the physical venue?

There are no requirements for a rooms as part of the package because we know a lot of locals will be interested in attending. As we finalize plans, Michael Gavin will be releasing the information (contact him on the email listed above to get on the mailing list or to volunteer) We're doing this as all volunteer staff in a not for profit organization, so any funds we get for registration will be used on making the event even better! This event is done out of love for the Adventurers Club without any idea of personal gain. We have already donated personal funds and countless hours working on start-up (incorporation, bank accounts, PayPal...), selecting the hotel, web site design, booking the AC, etc. We're still finalizing expenses so registration prices are not yet available but we are working to keep expenses down and still have an awesome event! Again, contact Michael at the email listed in the announcement if you would like more details as they're available or to volunteer. Thanks!

Do you know I have had that up there for months and you're the first to notice? :) Yes it is intentional, it was an inside joke from the marathon "team" on DVCNews. One person mistyped it and it just stuck. I must have used the same code on both boards and forgot.
