I was wondering if guests are allowed to take the stairs directly below the monorail stations to the station above? I always hate having to go through the resort, especially when a monorail is at the station.

Why don't you think guests would be allowed to use it? It's probably so they stop and look at shops, but if a monorail is right above me, I'd like to catch it instead of having to wait for the next one. Also, if you are at the bottom and a train has JUST entered the station, there is no need to sprint up the stairs, because they wait a minimum of 3 minutes on the resort line, so just be patient!

Have you ever heard of the Americans with Disabilities Act? If they were to open the stairs outside, they would also have to put in an elevator to accommodate people that cannot climb the stairs. They have made the accommodations inside. Besides the monorails at the resorts are for resort guests who will be traveling through the lobby from there anyway.

Well, instead of parking at the TTC, I used to park at the GF and catch the monorail there. Though, because they now have a 3 hr parking limit, I can no longer do that. And I didn't realize it at the time of my first post, but Doctor Seeker brings up a good point, and makes it unpractible for Disney to add an elevator there.

The stairs at the polynesian which used to lead right up to the monorails from outside you used to be able to take. Except that monorail was the monorail to epcot when wdw was much smaller. I enjoyed being able to go right up there. I understand how it sucks cutting through the hotel.
