Anyone know about opening dates for this attraction soon? I'm going next week and I hope it'll be there. I've still never seen this

I wouldn't count on it ever being open again. I noticed this weekend the large Drew Carry cutout was removed from the building.

That's been missing for quite a while now. IIRC it was removed around the time American Idol opened.

Welcome to Studios Central epcotty!
If it doesn't open during Christmas week, I suspect it will never re-open. It wasn't even open on Easter or July 4th.

It was open today and I stopped by for a show for old times sake. Same old attraction but I figured it may be one of the last opportunities we have to see it. From what I've heard, after it closes in January, that will be it for the rest of the year.

I may have to make it a point and stop in next week. It's been a while since we've experienced it.

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies. I went two days ago and saw it. Not bad. It was cool to go there again, especially being able to see Sounds Dangerous, Fantasmic, and the Osborne lights.

From what I've heard, it seems like Sounds Dangerous will only be open for mega-crowded days or used for special events. In other words, no plans to replace it with another attraction any time soon.

That also happens to be sitting in a heavy-trafficked location. Seriously, at least the Wonders of Life pavillion is hidden from view when it is not in operation.

It really is a shame that Disney is not utilizing that same in a better way.
Its such an 'in your face' location that it would be hard to walk by it.
I also don't think a lot of cast members are required to operate the ride.
So the fact that Disney doesn't even want to bother putting the few CM in place there shows how hopeless they find the attraction.
I wish they would at least make it like the theatre on main street with classical cartoons.
They could just play scenes from disney owned movies.
At least the building would serve some function.

Or, they could make it a preview center, with either pilots for Disney/ABC/ESPN shows, or possibly a 20 minute preview screening of an upcoming disney movie.

Boom! An instant speck of "working studio" atmosphere.

Kind of a shame that this is going to be open on and off. I think Disney is focusing on other areas of the park (major backlot refurb currently happening) rather than trying to find a new attraction for this space.

I agree that Sounds Dangerous doesn't seem to be on the top of the priority list at the moment for Disney
