I have been watching far too much VH1 lately and I thought it would be cool if we could do some free flow just remembering and goofing on the years that make up what Michael Eisner called "The Disney Decade."

Did you know that the Sorcery in the Sky Fireworks at the Disney-MGM Studios premiered that year? I loved the show, but it had the fewest good viewing areas in the park of any fireworks show. You might remember but Vincent Price did the original voice work for the show and the grand finale had the inflatable Mickey firing fireworks from his fingers. This seems to be an affliction that Mickey has. He seems to be doing it all the time. Just look at Fantasmic. Just think about that the next time he shakes your hand there Sparky.

Good thing those fingers didn't fire off any of the times I've gotten hugged by Mickey! :)

1991 Beauty and the Beast is released, but Howard Asham, who worked in different roles on this film, died months prior to its released. The man who gave a mermaid her voice and a beast his soul didn't get to see the finished product or accept his Oscar for Best Song.
Also this is the first Disney movie to have a "unfinished preview."

BatB is by far one of my absolute favorite movies ever...too bad a cannibal movie beat it for Best Picture. Okay, I liked the Cannibal movie too. ;-)

I used to love that movie...Escape to With Mountain that is. I remember it being shown frequently in school for some odd reason.
