According to Screamscape, the Time Racers attraction that was to go within the geosphere is no longer logistically possible. Apparently, the structure of the ride itself is too important to the geosphere, so the ride can't be just simply "gutted" from the geosphere. So basically that means that the ride, for now, is safe.

Exactly! Not that I have any info to report on it...Epcot doesn't like sharing with others. Silly people.

Nope. "Project Gemini" was slated to rip apart the inside and make it an E-Ticket ride. Eisner's way to 'rebrand' EPCOT.

Not at all. The "Project Gemini" was slated to have the ride portion taken out of Spaceship Earth and replaced with a new attraction. Now that option doesn't seem feasible since they realized that the ride was vital to the framework of the geosphere.

Yeah. I know I'ma catch a lot of flack for this, but oh well. I personally was never a big fan of SSE. I dno, I guess I'm just a die hard thrill seeker, and can't stand rides like this. I just don't like Omnimovers. They're boring to me.

But anyways, before y'all put me in front of the firing squad:

Project Gemini was originally to consist of the proposed (and now scrapped) Time Racers thrill ride to replace the ride currently inside SSE. It was also to include an overhaul of the Living Seas (I've heard both Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo theming was to go here) The copy of DCA's "Soarin'" attraction (the queue area is supposedly going where The Land's "Food Rocks" attraction currently is) a rainforest maze, a rainforest rollercoaster, a Jr. Autopia, and a new show building and attraction where WoL currently is.

Jim Hill wrote a great article about Project Gemini back in February. You can read it here.

Too bad the only thing to come out of this was Mission:SPACE and our copy of "Soarin'". I was really looking forward to this and hoping it'd actually happen.

Understand your thoughts about SSE. The omni Mover thing is a bit annoying at times. I would rather see them put in the type of vehicles they have over at Figment in SSE. Still sit down, but you can do more with them. Also less chance of stopping every few mins for a wheelchair.

Unfortunately that's the way all the parks (Disney and nonDisney) are. A whole bunch of great ideas get put up, and then several are turned down for various reasons be them feasiblity, finances, guest reactions, etc, and only a few actually get to the point of being in the parks.

:notamused: I know. It sucks. They come up with all these great ideas, and most of them end up getting scrapped. It's not fair. :bluecry: :salut:
