Toy Story Midway Mania is quickly becoming a favorite attraction of mine for this column and I really like the hommages to the films, especially any to Toy Story 1. As you pass through the queue, you may notice some "buildings" that look to be made out of cardboard boxes.
Toy Story Midway Mania is quickly becoming a favorite attraction of mine for this column and I really like the hommages to the films, especially any to Toy Story 1. As you pass through the queue, you may notice some "buildings" that look to be made out of cardboard boxes. While they may simply look like many of the other child drawings found around the queue, these have signifigance to the first Toy Story film.
These buildings are from the beginning of the first Toy Story film, where Andy is playing with his toys and "One eyed Bart", (played by Mr. Potato Head) attempts to rob the town bank only to be thwarted by the heroic Woody.
Imagineers placed these faux facades in the queue as a smart hommage to a scene in the film many guests likely forgot about entirely or until they see the facades again. It’s a great example of how the Imagineers have included these items to make a more convincing setting that you really have been shrunk down the size of toys.
