Well after the chat Sunday night Jillian was talking about Pop Century and being on the opening cast htere. Then it popped in my head 'hey why not be one of the first guests at pop century' So I booked a room for a few day starting the 14th of Dec. I have never been to the official grand opening of something at Disney and just thought it would be fun. On top of it I have a friend who works for the Interior Design Firm that handled Pop and I have a handful of neat things to look for when I do get there.

Anyone else planning on staying at Pop in the near future (even if it is not the first few days)?

Here's my problem with staying on site. Even at $50/night, I can get that same hotel room for around $20/night a mile or two down the road. Of course, there's good 'ol Jillian, but generally speaking I don't find it worth the money. :?

I might go just to go with my sister since her birthday is 2 days after the official opening. Take her park hopping or something :)

We may or may not get "preview" room times for CMs, they haven't told us yet.

Well, there was an article in the paper today about WDW and I saw an ad for the Value Resorts for $49. After showing it to mom, I think that's where we're staying when we go for Christmas :) (Jillian, I already told you, you'd better be there sometime between the 24th-28th!!!)

I was there on Thursday for the Open Mouse. It was a lot of fun. The themeing is great. All the CMs working really friendly and happy to answer any questions on it.

They are doing a CM test of the rooms, but it's really for the CMs that work there and they tell their CM friends, and they get to stay. Not knowing anyone over there well enough, no test for me.

How tacky is it? The tackiness of All Stars is what I never really liked about it.

I personally like the All Stars.... but it's decorated similar to them. Big icons at the end stairwells, the big item in the middle of the building, the themed railings, pools, etc.
