Very nice work; my favorite is Prince John. My son is looking at colleges now for drama, graphic design and animation and he wants to work at Disney. May I ask where you went to school?

I got my Bachelor in Fine Arts, majoring in Illustration, from the Kansas City Art Institute.

When I was a freshman in High School, I wrote Disney and asked for a list of schools they recommended to become a Disney animator... this school was #1 on the list. I think I'm correct in saying that the program has changed dramatically enough that I would NOT recommend going to my alma mater to get into Disney.

Other schools on the list I recieved were Ringling, Pratt, CalArts, Sheridan, and Savannah College of Art and Design. CalArts I'm pretty sure is #1 now for that aspiration.

Good luck to your son... ANY help I can give, let me know!

I got a similar list. Unfortunately, my strengths and finances were not adequate enough, thus my career direction went sadly elsewhere. :P

Those are great! I especially like the king from Robin Hood.

Thanks!

I have to say, that crown must have been a royal pain to animate.

Am I the only one who finds this funny? Anyway, great work man!

Oh, man...

2 things.

1) Subscribe to the Animation Podcast. It's hosted by a Disney animator, Clay Kaytis. GREAT interviews with the legends.

2) Check out animationmentor.com. It's a collection of animation people, both pros and students (of all ages) and there's tips, tricks, videos, etc. The site is actually built around an online animation certificate program... not cheap at all, nor is it easy. But they WILL offer financial aid, and all that goes with it.

I'm considering it myself.
