A new installment of almost live is coming soon

"Teen star Selena Gomez of Disney Channel's hit series Wizards of Waverly Place stars with the world famous Muppets in a music-filled sketch comedy show with classic Muppets backstage antics, Studio DC Hosted by Selena Gomez, this Sunday, October 5 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Also featured are The Cheetah Girls (The Cheetah Girls One World) performing a Bollywood dance number with Miss Piggy and Demi Lovato (Camp Rock) performing the hit single "This is Me" with Beaker, after a jealous Miss Piggy drags Kermit the Frog off the stage. Selena Gomez also gets tutored in the art of joke telling by Fozzie Bear.

Other vignettes include Statler and Waldorf teaching Moises Arias (Hannah Montana) and Jake T. Austin (Wizards of Waverly Place) the ins and outs of being a critic; Jason Earles (Hannah Montana) and Jason Dolley (Cory in the House) paying a visit to the Swedish Chef's craft services table; and David Henrie (Wizards of Waverly Place) jamming on the guitar with Floyd of the Electric Mayhem Band."

The Muppets are funny all by themselves. They don't need those Disney Channel tween brats to pull in the audiences. Why can't they have an old-fashioned Muppet special like they used to? :( :D

I agree, Snuggie, I was a regular viewer of the weekly Muppet show. I guess something is better than not seeing the Muppets at all..... :?

I'm sure Disney will start using Muppets again soon. They tend to take awhile to figure out how they want to use things.

I have to give a thumbs down to more tween stuff. Sure I'd love to see the Muppets in any venue, but there has to be a better way to utilize them than playing to the Hannah Montana crowd.

Agreed, I just saw Beeker Singing the Camp Rock song. I'm not wild about the tweener stuff, but I did laugh out loud when I saw it. :cantbelieve:

Who couldn't see Animal as YODA??? You can easily visualize him fighting Count Dooku in Episode II. This might have been a missed opportunity by G.L.

Is this from that Studio DC Almost Live special that was on the Disney Channel with those obnoxious tween stars?

I have totally missed this. I came across the Muppets a few times as I was flipping through the channels, but I kept on going when I saw the disney kids. I didn't know what was going on.
Anyway, you are correct that the Muppets are funny all by themselves, but if you remember, the original show always had a guest host. What was good about that was that it brought the family together to watch. If they are having the Muppets with tween stars then, they will not appeal to all age groups as the original show did.

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! After watching these my kids and I sat and watched one Muppet youtube video after another. My littlest loves the Swedish Chef, especially the "making scrambled eggs" video.

I have tried since they were little to convert them to Muppets, but classic Disney always won...not anymore!!!
