During MouseFest, my brother and I will be driving, so we will have a car.

Matt, it is a 4-door Lexus thingee, so we could be persuaded to chauffeur you around.

But it would have to be some pretty cool persuadin'!
Thanks, I'll have my own set of wheels. Not a Lexus, but the finest automobile Avis can offer.....in a compact :D

Are you guys getting transfers over to the port? Or renting a car for the day? The best I can find for the 1-day, 1-way rental is Thrifty for around $21 base. The best I can find for the 1-way week after, is Thrifty again, for around $105/week base.

We are driving from our home state of North Carolina! At some point, I will look up and just know that Matt is flying high overhead.

It is my brother's car--neither one of us has driven to WDW before, so it will be fun.

Matt: you should do a special extended WDWToday podcast for our trip. But even if you double the time, you still won't be anywhere near Lou's.

We're renting a car both ways and I believe Avis is about $40 each way, so split between two people, that's $20 a person (plus gas). Still cheaper than the bus transfers.

And more flexible. :) (you can get over as early as you want).

Another good point Denise. We're going to be going to the port pretty early so we can get checked in and whatnot and hit the buffet :D

Lets see how many quotes we can add! (only kidding)

The ship tends to open up between 11 and noon, so it's good to get there early and be checked in (and yes, hit the buffet!) by the time the buses get there. :) And for as much as it costs, every hour counts!

Yeah, those bus transfers are a little outrageous--something like $70 for 2 people? For that money, they should have the buffet on the bus.

I don't think the transfers are bad for how far the ride is (plus normally you'd be paying for gas and tolls). I don't remember the cost on them, but it isn't outrageous.

I believe its $70 per person for a roundtrip. It's not a bad price (I thought it was free) but since I can split my cost with Newell, it's worth it to go with the rental car.

Nope, transfers aren't free! (just Magical Express to WDW). But it's reasonable. That is good you are able to leave your car at the agency, to avoid the parking fees.

Ha ha....gotta catch 'em all!

That was my first thought too. But I do have an 8yo that loves Pokemon, Digimon and any video game period!
