Amazon is reporting that the Field Guide to Disney's Hollywood Studios will now be arriving between May 14 - 18. That means it has until, well...tomorrow. I'll update if it actually arrives. Has anyone gotten their book yet?

Haven't ordered from Amazon but I DO know I couldn't find it at DHS Friday when I was there. You would think WDW would have first dibbs on shipments..... Hmmmmm... wonder what the deal is? It was supposed to be released May 1st, wasn't it?

Well see. Typically things get released on Tuesdays (Books, DVDs, CDs, ect.) so wouldn't be surprised, if this is true now, that we start seeing it at least in the Studios tomorrow. I've also noticed that depending on which park it's for, that's the park that gets the first major shipment. About a week or two later you'll see them in the other parks and at World of Disney.

As I mentioned earlier, during the Studios 20th event I talked to a CM who was working on the book and he noted that the book was "no where near being finished" and didn't know where Amazon got their date from. :)

Did the CM mention any reason? Like, they were waiting for any new attraction or show to be added for the book?

Basically he said they just hadn't finished writing it yet. Not like it was delayed, just wasn't complete yet.

Makes me wonder what the delay is about. There aren't any new attractions coming that would warrant a rewrite.

Sigh, oh well. Guess we'll have to wait longer.

Again, not so much a delay as it is the time it's taken to write the book. Amazon, for some reason, picked May 1st as the publishing date which is incorrect.

Which means we still have no date whatsoever to go by.

That seems more accurate. Shame that it is so far away though.

I wonder why Amazon just pulled a random date out of the air.

I'm really looking forward to this book. I have the others and find them perfect light reading  I was wondering when the DHS one was going to be released.

I essentially agree with you. I found it basically on par with the other books in the line. which is to say, pretty good and certainly entertaining.

I was all ramped to read the Mk guide (the first one I bought) but, while it was entertaining, I found most of the info was stuff I already knew and have not bothered to read the others.
