It used to be a given that when the park opened, a vast majority of guests would take a right down Sunset Boulevard to ride Tower or Coaster. However, with Toy Story Midway Mania becoming the big to do, I'm wondering now what everyone does.

So, when the park opens (or you come to the Studios), do you take a right onto Sunset Boulevard or do you go straight down Hollywood Boulevard to Toy Story Midway Mania?

So I was thinking about this and I realize that most of the time when I go into the Studios when the park opens, I go to the left. Because it's usually SWW and I want a celebrity fast pass

So that doesn't count. And when I go to the park any other time I go straight - for Midway Mania. But I don't ride thrill rides (except for Star Tours and Mission Space-Green) so that doesn't really count either.

But, since you asked. :)

I don't ride RnRC or TOT but my kids do go on RnRC. What we do is go straight to TSMM, get a FP and ride. Later we go and get RnRC FP.

I think that is what most people do, so therefore it is spreading between the two

Honestly I head straight. . . . for the closest safe zone. Seriously people go nuts over getting to Mania. I think nowadays 90% of the mania is just getting to the ride.

If you would have asked this question before I rode TSM I would say right, but after getting to ride TSM, I would have to say straight fight off the crowds to get a fastpass and then hope to ride it right after that if the line is not to long.

Since we usually get a late start in the morning, if we don't go straight to TSM, there won't be any fastpasses available.

In October, it was TSM, all the way.

That's exactly the point I thought would come up....it really still amazes me how one attraction has for the most part changed the daily flow of crowds.

Well, the same thing happened in Animal Kingdom with Everest, right?

That's a valid point but in AK, there wasn't really a major attraction or two that was on par with Coaster or Tower to begin with. And at AK, I think they expected Everest to alter the way people tour the park there, whereas in the Studios, I don't think they anticipated this effect.

The infrequent time I go to the Studios for rope drop (like early January when my NJ friends were here & we went for EMH rope drop), we I head stright for TSM. Since they had not ridden TSm previously, we got a PastPass for 9:15, rode TSm twice before regular park openings, took a break on ToT and then went back to ride TSM the third time. It's also interesting to note that during rope drop throngs they route you through the arch so as to prevent guests from catapulting down those 5 or 6 steps toward TSM!!!

Under normal conditions (not rope drop) when I'm not with out-of-towners, it varies where I head because we usually go for a couple of hours or so and tend to focus on one area of the park.... One big positive (for me anyway) is that hubby can't do steps and has a handicapped pass so when he goes with me, we bypass the stairs on TSM thus cutting out some of the wait.

Oh, I think Kilimanjaro Safari is every bit a draw of Coaster or Tower. But, That's my opinion.

Completely agree with you there... what IS interesting (to me, anyway), is that it gets all the more obvious that there really is NOTHING to do back in that corner now at night... once you walk past TSMM, you either grab a bite to eat or keep walking and walking and walking, past LMA, walking and walking... Backlot Tour... I think... has to go.

I make a right and head for Tower of Terror always unless I'm there when the park isthat's when I go to TSMM.

I stick by my answer of it being both ways, but i would just like to point out that today, which was pretty slow, TSMM ran out of Fastpasses by 11:30

Does anyone else want to watch that happen? I mean, there are benches across the pathway from the stairs. Only need like three or four people. . . and some score cards. . .

. . . Or am I just in my twisted, cryptic world again by myself?

I'll take "twisted, cryptic world" for $1000, Indy.

Great. So I sit here by myself. I'd invite Mugsy along but um. . .

Think of Jeff Dunham and his "Arguing with Yourself" skit. . .

I think I'd head straight to TSMM if only because I'm curious to see how the queue at DHS is since it's toy themed whereas DCA's queue is themed to Paradise Pier. Plus, it's my understanding that FPs can be obtained easily enough later for the ToT and RnR.
