Looking down

This week in The Darkroom, we have a photo theme of "looking down" for photos taken in Hollywood Studios and we have some great submissions from our readers to choose from.

Our first photo is of something you’d only find by looking down on the ground.  In each of the theme parks, you will find these survey markers, which are placed in precise locations to give exact coordinates of each spot.  It’s all part of an effort to be able to know the exact layout of everything on Walt Disney World property and be able to properly place buildings or anything else constructed exactly where they need to be.  I did some research and this particular marker comes from right in front of the Backlot Express restaurant.

Our next photo is from the Backlot Tour and Bonnie is looking down the length of the trams just before you board them.  Regardless of your opinion of the attraction in it’s current state, it is a pretty cool looking photo.

If anyone knows about looking down, it’s Waldorf and Statler, who look down on the audience and the show at Muppetvision 3D.  Sitting in their balcony seats (and admittedly bolted to the ground), they love to dish out insults to anyone who they see and have become crowd favorites.

Be sure to send us your photos for next week, which will feature the theme of "dinner". Any photos you may have from Hollywood Studios that you think fits into the theme of "dinner" can be sent to us to be featured in this column.
