Jedi Training Academy Stage

If I asked you what the most popular attraction is with kids at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you'd probably think that it's Toy Story Midway Mania.  And you'd be right.  But there's an attraction that is hot on its heels in terms of popularity and that's the Jedi Training Academy.

If I asked you what the most popular attraction is with kids at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you'd probably think that it's Toy Story Midway Mania.  And you'd be right.  But there's an attraction that is hot on its heels in terms of popularity and that's the Jedi Training Academy.  Jedi Training Academy shows fill up incredibly fast each day and it's becoming one of the most difficult attractions to get your kids into.  The kids may not recognize it, but the Jedi Training Academy stage is based on a famous scene in Star Wars.

The stage is based on the shield generator that is protecting the second Death Star in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.  This is the same shield generator that is the backdrop for a commando team, led by Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and Luke Skywalker to attack the base from its rear entrance and subsequently allow the Rebel fleet to destroy the Death Star.

Studios veterans may remember something looking the Jedi Training Academy stage a few years earlier, and they'd be thinking of the first gift shop that adorned the exit to Star Tours, Endor Vendors.  That was replaced by Tatooine Traders, although there's still a small reference left to the old shop today.
