Speaking of variations, there seem to be some in the pre-show. Do different simulators (or groups of sims) have different pre-shows, or is the pre-show random as well? Or am I just imagining things?

After 10 rides, I don't know if I've seen a different pre-show, I've just walked into it at different segments. I could be that I'm not paying enough attention to the exact details, but the preshow seems the same every time.

The new ride is AWESOME! The variations make it fun to ride again and again. This Sith is very pleased.
The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be ...unnatural.

Opening Darth Vader
Middle Kashyyyk
Transmition: Princess Leia (everyone always laughs when she says: Helps me Star Tours you're my only hope)
Ending: Naboo

I like the Vader opening because of the backwards motion. Of course, that means I overwhelmingly get the droid opening.
My preference: Vader/Hoth/Yoda/Naboo

For the endings, I'd rank them:
1. Naboo
2. Geonosis
3. Coruscant (only experienced it once though)
Beginnings:
1. Tatooine
2. Hoth
3. Kashyyk
I don't think you can really go wrong though. They're all really spectacular.
One of these days when the lines die down, I'm going to spend as much time as possible in the droid queue to experience all the great Star Wars and Disney gags in there. Some of those gave me a nice laugh.
