Has anyone heard anymore on what they are going to do with the Animation Tour? Hadn't heard anything in a while and was just curious.

Disney-MGM Studio's backstage tour of its animation facility reopened last month, but there's one thing missing: animators. Walt Disney Studios halted production in November on its long-troubled animated project, A Few Good Ghosts, raising questions about the future of the Orlando facility and its 258 artists. If park guests ask where the artists are, guides say simply they're taking a break, a Disney spokeswoman said. Disney is expected to announce "a more concrete plan" for the Orlando animation studio by January.

Latest from the Orlando sentinel is that the animation studios are to be closed and most of the animators will be loosing their positions, although a few will take a transfer to California. The announcement is supposed to be made on Monday, January 12th 2004. Lets hope they change their minds. Whn we were there in December, all the animators desks in the display area on the tour were empty, and most were gone! :|

Actually, we have Florida residents seasonal passes, which is far less expensive then an annual pass. We have blackout dates, but they are in the middle of summer which is the time you don't want to go to Disney. You will find out what I mean when you move down to Orlando. It's the heat!
