I only saw Geonosis once or twice out of 11 rides, so I can't really form an opinion yet. It seemed to have the lowest probability of coming up according to other riders I talked to.

Speaking of variations, there seem to be some in the pre-show. Do different simulators (or groups of sims) have different pre-shows, or is the pre-show random as well? Or am I just imagining things?

My understanding was it was all random

After 10 rides, I don't know if I've seen a different pre-show, I've just walked into it at different segments. I could be that I'm not paying enough attention to the exact details, but the preshow seems the same every time.

The variations that I think I've seen are at the beginning. Sometimes the window washing droids have a ladder. And sometimes there are luggage handlers (who act suspiciously like their human counterparts). But like you, I generally arrived somewhere in the middle of the pre-show.

I rode the new Star Tours four times, and all four times, it was AWWWWWW-sommmmmme!!!!! And I'm not the only one. Apparently, the best scenario was when the Starspeeder went underwater. Loved the fact that C-3PO was piloting the ship. Overall, this new Star Tours is definitely now the new Must-See Attraction at DHS, and I challenge anyone to ride it as many times to get all the scenarios. :D

My ranking for endings is:
Naboo
Coruscant
Geonosis

I agree with this ranking. I like all the different references in Naboo, particularly to the old submarine ride in DL, and Stormrider in TDS.

A few sources within the park recommended the Naboo scene, or as they said the underwater scene. I agree with them.

D'oh, didn't see these despite seeing Naboo scene about 50 times. Need to ignore Jar Jar next time

It is always reccomended to ignore Jar Jar.

The new ride is AWESOME! The variations make it fun to ride again and again. This Sith is very pleased.

The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be ...unnatural.

While Vader opening is cool, frankly I prefer the droid opening simply because of the Millenium Falcon aspect. I find it much more exciting of an opening personally.

I like the Vader opening because of the backwards motion. Of course, that means I overwhelmingly get the droid opening.

My preference: Vader/Hoth/Yoda/Naboo

IMO, Millenium Falcon & subsequent chase > backwards motion

I made it down to Disneyland for opening day. I absolutely love the updates. I think I'm split on the 2 introductory segments. I love Vader shaking the StarSpeeder with the Force, but following the Falcon out was beyond cool. I've only had the Falcon introduction once in my 8 rides and it was the first time.

For the endings, I'd rank them:

1. Naboo
2. Geonosis
3. Coruscant (only experienced it once though)

Beginnings:

1. Tatooine
2. Hoth
3. Kashyyk

I don't think you can really go wrong though. They're all really spectacular.

One of these days when the lines die down, I'm going to spend as much time as possible in the droid queue to experience all the great Star Wars and Disney gags in there. Some of those gave me a nice laugh.
