We've heard in other threads that Soundstage one (building between Backlot Tour and Toy Story Midway Mania) is being used by Imagineers currently.

Kevin Yee is reporting (for what it's worth) that the Crush Coaster from DLRP is coming in that spot

Quote

Was survey work already underway for the Crush Coaster that is planned for this space, imported from the French Disney Studios park? Active construction is definitely not yet occurring, but it was interesting nonetheless to see this area not put to use.

As always, seeing is believing

I love Finding Nemo.... but enough already! He's already has attractions in 2 other parks! Where is some love for the Incredibles, UP, Ratatouille? Or move the Laugh Floor out of MK and do something new in Tomorrowland.

Ok i can't go into detail besides that the rumor backstage is that it isn't a new attraction at all, but rather testing for updates for other aspects of the parks, and that whatever it is, the Imagineers are keeping there mouths shut. If you so much as sneeze in the direction of soundstage one alarms will go off. Whatever it is, they don't want anyone to know

Interesting. If it was like a new audio-animatronic character or something like that, why couldn't they test it outside a theme park all together?

Looking forward to seeing what (or who) comes out of there!

Could be where they're testing some of the elements for new Fantasyland? Maybe the dumbo queueless queue games? Maybe some of the animatronic scenes for the Little Mermaid dark ride?

Perhaps further testing of the characters with voices that was seen in Disneyland?

Assuming the rumor is true, interesting that they opted to pick that location to hold it in when the location isn't critical to the project.

Agreed. Unless this is testing that needs guest involvement, I would think there would have to be some kind of warehouse space somewhere in the backlot where they could do testing. Certainly Dis could afford to rent warehouse space somewhere close by if they needed. It just seems odd they'd do it inside a park where it would be so easy for rumors to start.

Even if they were doing testing of the new living character experience, why would they need such an enormous space?

There are definately not warehouses spaces on the backlot. Everything that guests don't see is being used for something.

REALLY wishful thinking but I how cool would it be if they were testing the DHI holographic technology from Kingdom Keepers?

OMG that would be awesome...in the last book the warehouse for the DHI techn. is at DHS. The good thing about a rumor is that you can let your imagination go wherever you want...
