The food we had there the other night for the convention was good, and it was just quick stuff.

I have never been there sadly enough. This is a resturant that I've never been too, at least that I remember. lol. Ah well I'll have to try it sometime.

i ate there tonight for dinner (I've been for breakfast before) and I was really surprised by how good the food is there. There is this pineapple chicken that was AMAZING (I even asked the chef for the recipe). Also the turkey from the carving station had the most flavor I've tasted in turkey in a long, long time. And for $25 all you can eat, it's a tremendous value. I highly recommend this place for dinner

Ate here again with kathy (from this site) and we both enjoyed it quite a bit. The pineapple chicken is still the premier dish in my opinion.

I ate there Friday as part of the Fantasmic package. It was OK. The apple cobbler was good. The mashed potatoes not so much.
Fantasmic was packed so good thing I had the package

Did you try the pineapple chicken Mike?
absolutely. That was pretty good. There were some good things and some not so good. Like I said its was OK, maybe a bit better than that. The desserts were good. I thought it was better than the Trails End but its not in the same league as Boma as far as buffets go. It is the best choice for the Fantasmic Package IMHO because I'm not a big fan of Mama Melrose's and the Brown Derby is a bit pricey

In my two visits in the past 2 or 3 months, I've really enjoyed the food and service here quite a bit. I need to retry Boma because I had dinner and in another thread I mentioned my disdain for it (and Boma is much more expensive). To be honest, I'd rather eat at H&V than Boma (although I wish I could have the pineapple chicken from H&V and the soups from Boma).

I recall that post. I love the place. The carving stations are great. The soups are tremendous. The desserts are great, too. But thats just me. I was at H&V on Friday. The service was mediocre as our drinks (the only thing the waitress actually gets) took awhile.

Boma is my favorite WDW restaurant, actually.
As far as H&V goes I voted "4"-- it's been a couple trips since we've been for dinner, but we enjoyed it each time we have been.
