Mike, thanks for the notice! I say it's about time. Other non-Disney hotels offer it. It just seems like an amenity that DVC should offer. It's good that DVC listened to its members and added this service.

To my knowledge DVC members have been able to get free internet prior to May 4th of this year. I think now it becomes more official.

Matt, I had heard some rumors of that sort too. But I thought I heard someone from a recent DVC trip state they didn't get free Internet. Don't quote me on that, though.

A user on this site, ADP, was at WDW last week and mentioned that he was billed for internet but then had his DVC guide call up the front desk and the charges were taken off. I've heard of others who simply mentioned the perk and the discount was removed.

Ah, so it was a secret perk, huh? :shifty: That's good they took it off guest's bills. Thanks, Matt!

I called my guide and he called the front desk of AKLV and had the charges taken off. They probably didn't have to do that; however, we were only told prior to this announcement it would be free beginning in the Spring of 2008. That was my major complaint. It is Spring 2008 and I'm still being charged. The starting date was too loose. I'm glad they've finally came up with an official start date.

ADP, I'm sure they had other people that complained as well. Kudos to you for knowing. :shifty:

MANY upscale hotels do not offer WiFi for free, primarily because the clientèle staying there can afford to shell out some extra money for internet. It's the cheaper hotels that flaunt it and offer it for free because they need to offer it as a perk for staying there.

Does the Fairfield Inn at the Marriot Village have Free Wi-Fi? I remember having to pay an internet kiosk for Internet use.

Internet service is free at all three of the Disneyland hotels.

If I'm not mistaken the DL hotels don't enjoy the same type of high occupancy rate that WDW resorts have so I'd imagine they use the free internet there as a means of luring guests to stay with them.
