Free dining is being extened. The offer is valid for arrivals Aug. 15 – Oct. 7, 2010, Oct. 22 – Oct. 28, 2010, Nov. 12 - Nov. 18, 2010, Nov. 27 – Dec. 2, 2010 and Dec. 10 – Dec. 21, 2010.
Even if you aren't going to use free dining, be sure to make your ADRs ASAP if your travel dates fall on any of these time periods because free dining usually means the ADRs go quickly!

Looks and sounds like Disney isn't expecting the economy to improve much through the rest of this year. Based on how things are looking its probably a good move. I just wish it wasn't free dining. I was sort of hoping for deeper room discounts.

If you look at the dates it's valid for (not many of them), Disney is basically using free dining to fill in the "gaps" where hotel occupancy is low.
