So with the Studios Catering Co closed for rehab right now and a new menu on the way, I know I'm excited to see what the new menu will be. But what would you all like to see from the new menu?

I'd love if they went back to the idea they had in 2005 for a wrap place. Here was the description of the menu back then...

Quote

Studio Catering Company now serves flatbread sandwiches including cumin-spiced lamb kefta with baba ghanoush and harissa sauce, tandoori chicken with tomato and cucumber raita, and a steak "gyro"-style sandwich with roasted red pepper hummus and tomato and onion relish. For kids, a grilled chicken wrap with lettuce and cream cheese, or a chilled smoked ham wrap are offered. Dessert includes seasonal fruit tarts, lemon curd in a meringue shell, and panna cotta with strawberries.

Anything out of the ordinary would be nice. I hope burgers, fries, and chicken fingers are excluded because the Studios has enough of those offerings. Personally, I'd like to see a sampling of entrees from the Studios sit down restuarants in a quick service restaurant. For instance, the fried chicken from 50's Prime Time, or a smaller version of the cobb salad at the Brown Derby.

I doubt this would happen because it could take away business from the sit down restaurants where the food is more costly. Plus, it would cause guests to rethink the need for a sit down restaurant meal. But, we can wish, right?

I agree about no burgers, chicken fingers or fries Aaron. Time to mix things up and give guests a reason to eat here.

I am trying to think back to being there 10 years ago and placing where this restaurant is. However...

I agree with the no more "fast food" type food, however it is more difficult to theme the food in the studios than in epcot or magic kingdom as you have "lands". That being said, i like the ideas of ADP.. a small sampling of things from the other sit down dining places. Or perhaps a menu that has something themed to each attraction, like a "indiana jones salad thats eaten in a bowl like Indy's hat, etc.

The menu Matt posted sounds delicious, so I say use that, but have the muppets do the catering...a lot of room for creative interpretation.

My inner child says, "edible room like Willy Wonka...mmmmm, chocolate."

Oh, I really like the idea of a Muppet Catering Company:

Electric Mayhem can be the "live" entertainment...

Dr. Benson Honeydew has a newfangled contraption to deliver food directly to your table based on an RFID chip on your receipt...for a fun time... walk around the seating area and your food will follow you...

Every once in a while, a huge string of Swedish cursing comes wafting out of the kitchen... followed by a large crash of pots and pans, followed by MORE louder cursing in Swedish...

Love the idea, and it wwas played around with in early planning for Muppet Vision! I think it would be a better fit over where pizza planet is though

I agree on the location... but, they could have a sign saying the normal catering didn't show up (their truck got involved in a wreck involving a certain fedora-wearing teacher), and the Muppets just happened to be in the area...

I love the Muppet idea, but it's too far from Muppetvision to make sense. If any restaurant would get a Muppet theme, it'd be Pizza Planet

which would be an excellent idea. Then they could build a Pizza Planet that actually looks like the Pizza Planet at Pixar Place

Why not turn Catering Co Into Pizza Planet? Put some walls up on the backlot side, and make some room in the gift shop across from it, and you have all sorts of options, than simply turn what is now Pizza Planet into something else? it's just all part of my idea to further theme lands in DHS to specific Studios, cause there is the basis already, including expanding Pixar, and Muppets into there own Mini-lands

it looks like they are removing the black and red Backlot Tour theme for a new theme.

Interesting. I'll have to see if I can notice anything from the front.

How about a restaurant themed after the Star Wars Cantina? It could feature the Cantina Band playing, a cool bar area and a full menu!
