U Drive Garage

Last week we pointed out a reference to the Public Enemy film in the Great Movie Ride and we will stick with that theme for this week also as there’s one very overlooked detail that also refers back to the classic gangster film. While many guests pick up on the James Cagney Audio Animatronic in the gangster scene, there are other subtle references to the Public Enemy that Imagineers peppered into the attraction.

In the"Underworld" scene there is a garage, the one that the car drives out from (when working), and it’s called the U Drive Garage. This is the name of the garage that Putty Nose walks out from right before being whacked by Cagney in The Public Enemy. Speaking of this scene and it’s connection to the Public Enemy film, there’s one more very hidden reference to the film.

The warehouse that is behind the two audio-animatronic gangsters who engage in a shootout to the left of the ride vehicle is also from the Public Enemy film.
