While at WDW this time around, I had a chance to "Drop in" to Room 1313 at the Hollywood Tower Hotel 8 times. On the first stop, I noticed that there are a few doors on the left and right with fire alarms that appear to be the same ones around the resort. My question is that in the event of an emeregency, can these exits actually be used or is it just an illusion?

Okay... when you are on Tower and you go to the first floor on the ride (where the guests that were in the elevator appear as an illusion), there are two doors ahead of the elevator to the left and right. Above them, there are non-illuminated exit signs and fire alarms (the ones where you have to break the glass to pull the alarm). My question is that in the event of an emeregency, can guests get out of the elevator and exit through those doors?

Yes those are real exits. Should the ride stop there you would be escorted out of it. I have been to one of the exits on Pirates. Walked behind the fire scene about 8 yrs ago.

Oh thats really cool. I've always wanted to do that. One time we almost got stuck inside of Dinosaur. It was awesome but unfortunately we got right up to where we were about to get off.

How would people get out? The seatbelts keep them in the seats unless unlocked and there is a gate thing on the cars which probably remains locked until the unloading platform.

Is there a control panel outside the vehicle where CMs could release the seatbelts?

Yes they are real exits, yes the CMs would come get you, yes there are release buttons in the control room, and in a far away place guests can't get to on the cars.

Those are real exits. I had been wondering the same thing myself. Interesting stuff on this thread.

No that's not. I work the ride. The control panels are on the back of the car, and at the lower level of the car, as a guest you cannot see either of them. The one you can see isn't an emergency panel.
