Just got back from a week at WDW. And i've got a good story for you SWW fans.

First, a little background. My 10 yr old son was very interested in David Prowse's autograph, so i arranged our flight to get us to WDW as early as possible. That's the good news. The bad news was that our flight was at 6 am on Saturday the 6th. Due to some problems with our plumbing, we were a couple of hours late leaving home, and didn't get settled into our hotel room till nearly midnight. We had only 4 hours to sleep before we had to get up and make our flight. So we started this trip with very little rest. Never a good idea to go to Disney World already tired.

As we got to MCO, a storm was moving through. It drenched us as we got to our ME bus, and my family was a little uneasy how our vacation was starting out. But as we got to the Beach Club, the sky was clearing. After checking in and grabing a quick bite at the ESPN club, we made our way to the Studios. I went straight to Prowse's line to ask a few fans what time they arrived that morning. The queue had been moved inside Sounds Dangerous, due to the earlier storm. I begin to chat with those outside. It was around 4 in the afternoon and all these people had standby passes. After some conflicting opinions, most suggested i get in line well before 6. One very nice lady says, "I have two fastpasses for Jay, we have already met him, would you like them?" "Yes! Thank you!" So i find my son and give him the news. "Guess what? We get to meet Captain Typho right now." He is pleasantly surprised, but the best is around the corner.

We get to Jay Laga'aia's stand and there are just a couple of people there. A CM named Brick and another lady who is an obvious fan. Jay shows up right behind us and we get his autograph. He happily complains that his hand is beginning to hurt from all the signing the last few weeks, as we get a photo. We move over and i begin to talk to this lady who is holding 2 of the expensive lightsabers. "You look like a true fan, can you tell me what time i should get in line for David Prowse tomorrow?" Before she can speak, Brick jumps in. "This is Ms Luke Skywalker, she has never missed a day of Star Wars Weekends." "Wow! Let me get your photo!" i say, as she and Brick pose. So i introduce myself and my son, and ask Brick my question. He turns to my son and says, "Do you want to meet Darth Vader?" "Yes." "Do you really, really want to meet him?" My son nods a little more. "Would you be my best buddy?" My son is beginning to look excited. I say to Brick, "listen, i appreciate what you're wanting to do but we plan to come back tomorrow." "No, don't worry. Come on." Brick then escorts us in where Bullock and Prowse are, talks to the other CM's and tells us to stand right here. There are 3 groups in line. I notice that the CM's are a little uneasy about us, shaking there heads. "Some of these people camped out last night," one mentioned to me. "I know how hard it is to get this autograph, but it looks like i spoke to the right person at the right time." i reply.

As soon as the groups are finished a CM motioned for us to go. We walk up and another CM says to Mr. Prowse, "This is one of your biggest fans," speaking of my son. David asks him his name and signs a photo and we get a few pics. When we are done, a very meek CM tells Prowse there are still more people outside, but he can stop now or at any time. "No, bring them in," he says as we are leaving.

We are stunned by our good fortune, and make our way over to find Brick. I wave at him and he comes over to us. "You are the reason we come back to Disney every year," i say. "It's people like you that do special things for us every time we come. That's what brings us back, and i can't thank you enough." Brick seems touched, as we all are nearly in tears. We hug and shake hands, then walk away.

My son and i are not in the Studios for an hour, and here we are with photos and an autograph from the legend himself. Wow. Talk about Disney magic. Our vacation is off to an incredible start.
Thanks to Brick. Another great CM who keeps the magic alive at the Studios.

Brick is awesome, he's from Guest Relations and has escorted Jay in all his visits, he escorts celebs when they come to WDW. The CM's that work at SWW are the best people you'll ever meet, they're always eager to help and go out of their way to make magic. COnsidering most of them still work their full time job at WDW, most of them get into SWW for the extra money and because they enjoy the event. You probably met Linda Skywalker (dressed in black, red hair) she legally changed her last name to be a Skywalker a true SWW fan, she's there from Thursday night and leaves Sunday night, camps out everynight, Jay Laga'aia sang happy b-day to her , I think it was the 2nd weekend.
Speaking of "Dreams Come True" I can now disclose a bit of magic that happened to us:
As some of you know, I had purchased the CLone Wars poster last year to have it signed by Dave Filoni, I wanted all the Clone Wars actors that were coming to sign it as well, only to learn they didn't have autograph sessions, so the first weekend I started talking to different CM's about my situation all of them said that it wasn't possible because of their schedule. Anyways we stayed behind in the theater after the 2nd show and got to meet James Arnold Taylor (voice of Obi Wan in the clone wars) who graciously signed our poster and took pics. Next in line was the weekend when Matt Lanter was coming (voice of Anakin) it also happened to be my sons b-day, after asking June 5th if it was possible to get the poster signed by Matt and Ashley again we were told that it wasn't. On my son's b-day (June 6th) we go to DHS, not really planning of doing anything SW related but actually doing most of the park, one CM got us VIP seats at Lights, Motor Action and who is sitting next tu us, but Matt Lanter, well I didn't have the poster but we did ask for a picture before the show started and he said "sure, that's fine", when we were coming out of the show the same CM that got us the VIP seats came and asked "do you still have that poster", no we didn't but we can bring it tomorrow, SUnday. We brought it back Sunday and the CM had Ashley and Matt sign it. This was a dream for us because we had tried so hard every weekend to have this done. So lessoned to be learned if you want something keep working until you get it, keep trying and you'll get it in the end.
So we got pictures with all the celebrities that came to SWW some by chance (Matt Lanter James Arnold Taylor) and some by planning ahead (Dave Prowse we got to the park at 3:30am for him) And meeting Ashley was just icing on the cake even though it was thru very tragic circumstances.
Por favor mantenganse alejados de las puertas

Thanks for the reply. Looks like June 6th was a good day for you too! Great serendipity that you met Matt at LMA. Very cool! And getting all those autographs is quite the accomplishment. Good job.
I know being persistant helps in any situation, but there is no way i would have thought of, or asked to meet Prowse ahead of those in line. But i was so relieved that Brick made it happen.
I don't know if i would have been able to get up at 4 two days in a row. Actually 3 Central time.

And it was most definately Linda Skywalker we talked to.
