I'm sure many of you who keep up with the news have heard that Fantasmic! in Disneyland is getting another round of updates this summer. Flotsom and Jetsom make their debuts, which should be extremely interesting. But I've heard other characters will be making a debut as well. Anyone have a list?

I'm really interested to see what the new Maleficent Dragon looks like. But all the info I'm able to find is that it's a 40-foot tall Dragon. Anyone know more?

well the interesting thing is that as of right now, they are saying those additions are ONLY for the summer, which is kind of odd that you plus something then after the summer remove it. but i think that will change come august. and ive heard they are still having problems with the new maleficent, and she is yet to be debuted, but im going down in about 3 weeks and ill report about all the additions

I think the only seasonal part of the Nightastic promotion is the fireworks show Magical. I don't think they'll pull the new effects from Fantasmic after this summer. I just think they marketed them so heavily because of the new dragon and the additions to the show. The MSEP has a new Tink float, but it's rumored to be heading back home across the esplanade to Disneyland next summer. The MSEP usually runs in DCA during summer and the last 2 weeks of December.

I went to see it last night. The dragon is still not up, so basically the end segment is Maleficent going up on a pedestal with a sparkly green wand flailing about while they hope everyone watches the water screens.

Looks kind of like the dragon in the water/fireworks show @ one of the Asian Disney parks. Still-- very impressive.

You mean BraviSEAmo? In which case, it doesn't really

(Here's a video of the second half of the show in question. Prometeo (the dragon) appears about 1:30 into it)

I so love the soundtrack to that show though - I have the CD I imported :D

And she looks even more impressive in person. Until such time as DHS gets a new dragon (if it ever happens), I don't know that there will be much debate over which Fantasmic show is better. I heard a 10 year old boy near me proclaim that the new dragon was the scariest thing he'd ever seen in his life. Near the end, she turns her head towards Mickey and it's quite a sight as she glares at him.
