I ate there for lunch last weekend and the menu is fairly limited so if you happen to like something on the menu, that's great but if not you're kind of out of luck. I had the potato leek soup which was amazing. It was one of those foods that you wish you could have some more of days later. I also had the cobb salad which I wasn't a big fan of. I found it a little too "mushy". It needs some crispier veggies in there.

we ate there just about each trip to wdw and sometimes twice; wife loves the cobb salad that they prepare tableside and i usually get the steak or veal chop specials if available and one usually is; daughter potchkes with a little bit of this or that lol; and desserts are great; bit of trivia - my mother's long time friend/mah jong partner got divorced years ago back here and moved to LA and married the manager of the original BD out there; my mother visited and ate at that one more than once but she has never dined in the MGM BD :wink: ;

When I go back Howie, I'll be sure to ask about the specials. When you've gotten the Cobb salad, did the CM tell you the story of the Cobb salad?

Too formal for a resturant inside a theme park.

I liked it. My girlfriend and I ate there, and I've managed to visit whenever I felt the whim to, like my last visit where my sister and I ate. That was expensive, but worth it just for the grapefruit cake alone.

Yes, the grapefruit cake is to die for! I've never found anything quite like it here in Hollywood, though Sussana's on La Brea comes close. Now I'm craving The Brown Derby, and am 3000 miles from it.

I wanted to eat here because I read about their famous grapefruit cake in a Disney Magazine and obsessed about it. As a vegetarian, the item they had on there didn't appeal to me (not a fan of coconut) so the waiter spoke with the chef and they made me an incredible vegetable sandwich. It was pretty good. Had the cake, too. Wasn't as good as I was expecting but I'd have it again.

I'd go there again for lunch (won't pay dinner prices) and I think I'd try that coconut crusted tofu dish. :D
