With Mousefest 2009 canceled, it's left me a little disappointed that I won't have a good opportunity to meet many of you from this site and so it's had me thinking about resurrecting an event we held prior to the advent of Mousefest.

Report from MGMeet I: http://www.studiosce...opic.php?t=1529

Planning thread from MGMeet II:
http://www.studiosce...opic.php?t=1540

So with that being said, I'm curious to know if there's enough interest out there to hold a Studios Central meet. The premise is to have a weekend of events with the members of this community. Unlike Mousefest where we run around a lot, this would be a slower paced event with the goal of building the relationships we have forged online. I'm looking at late 2009 or early 2010.

So, does this sound interesting to you? Would you consider booking a trip to come down for a weekend (or longer) to attend this?

I'd love to participate Matt. I'm planning on coming down solo for what would have been the Mousefest dates; Dec 9th - 15th. I'm also coming down Dec 26th - Jan 3rd with Kim and Anna. I hope the meet dates match my dates, but I understand if they don't. I'm sure there are more circumstances to consider when selecting the dates.

Also, unrelated, We'll be down for Tikifest; July 31st - Aug 9th. I know these dates sort of conflict with Magic Meets, but I hope to see you at some of the Tikifest events. BTW, I enjoyed the Tikifest show today.

I think its a great idea. The one thing I disliked about Mousefest was at how big and impersonal it got at times. With an event like this, our community could have some time to get acquainted and reacquainted.

I would definitely want to participate in something like this.

I also wanted to add I may try and include another solo trip specifically for this meet depending where on the calendar it falls. If its too close to another trip then probably not.

Unfortunately, I can't make the Star Wars event because I'll be at WDW a week or two before it takes place. It's sort of crazy, but I have this stuff planned a year in advance.

I think it would be cool to get time to actually talk with folks on this site. It seems many events/meets don't give much "mingle" time....

So, one of the other commuities that I mostly lurk in (it would be just wrong to say I was active :D ), has scheduled their meets from December 3-6, 2009. (It's Magic in Pixels - Tim Divine's site.) When was anybody here thinking the Studios meets would be? That is, of course, if there were meets.

I'll give you a better answer. I probably wouldn't fly in just for a weekend - since I'm coming from the west coast. (altho - it has been done!)

But, if something was scheduled during a time I might already consider a longer visit - I'm in!

Considering that my current trip to Walt Disney World will be my last one, I'm hoping that you'll schedule one while I'm down there. The weekend would be bad because the train takes 24 hrs. to get there.

Hey Matt
Anything new on this meet? Just curious if you had any ideas of dates or a location.

Nothing really in mind yet. It seems there isn't a good common time of the year for most of us

I would be interested. Maybe have a Spring......well it's too late for that. Maybe make it a seasonal thing. Make it not so big as Mouse fest. Schedule it about 3 months a part. Mix it between some of the more common and not so common months. Like July, October, January, March.

Just a thought.
