Has anyone here tried installing OSX on an ordinary PC? I know it is gray matter, but I once tried installing a hacked OSX system in my PC on an el-cheapo ASUS board; it mostly works, other than using a PCI LAN card, since OSX doesn't seem to recognise my onboard ethernet adapter.

Here's a screenshot of my OSX install:

No, I have the real thing. Windows XP runs smoothly on my Mac though.

I know I'm gonna open up a can of worms here, but why would anyone want to choose a Windoze PC over a Mac, even if it's a hacked OSX version on a PC? Isn't that what Linux is for?

For one thing, it's cheaper than a similarly-powered Mac, and you get to tinker with it better.

Hate to be a nag, but it's also very illegal.

Yeah, since you're violating Apple's EULA if you install OS X on a non-Apple system:

You may not agree to install, use or run the Apple software on any non-Apple-branded computer, or to enable others to do so.

This is especially true if you just downloaded a hacked ISO of OS X, with or without a licensed copy of it.
I wouldn't encourage people to do it, of course, but I guess it is an inevitable consequence of Apple switching processor architectures to a more commonly-used one.
